PREP TIME

Rolling of dice. And you know what? We got what we hoped for last time — “Trip to INA (Part 2)”. Just wait a sec, that’s the result from another parallel world. According to the latest news, in this world, we got “Prep Time” for the roll of dice.

By definition, Prep Time (short for preparation time) is considered the sacred time to do all kinds of activities — mainly mischievous ones — under the supervision of some teachers, or if we were lucky, none at all. We used to be in different states of excitement, working on various things.

Initially, in our 6th and 7th classes, we were quite sincere compared to our higher classes. We just sat obediently, studied diligently, and seldom did we talk aimlessly.

Moving on to our higher classes, 8th and 9th standards, I made it clear to myself to just chat with whoever was available, on numerous pointless issues. Prep Time felt like only a few minutes to me. In the later stages, Hari Prasad Sir (our English teacher) would come to any of our classes (namely A, B, or C) and orate stories as if we were teleported into that world and experiencing it ourselves. He conveniently left us at a cliffhanger, promising the remainder for tomorrow — building huge suspense in our minds.

Not just Hari Prasad Sir — our Prep Time was sometimes filled with teachers imparting invaluable life lessons. We had Jagdish Babu Sir (our Computer Science teacher), with his ultra-hyper motivational speeches that pumped us with indomitable spirit and crazy thoughts. Then, we had Rukutty Sir (our Science teacher), with his soft-spoken talks on enhancing our personalities. And many more teachers, each with their unique point of view on different topics, carving a change in us, one speech at a time.

Prep Time was not just a simple event in our routine — it was this magical time that meant a lot to us. So, I’ve got more to say, which I can’t condense into one article. You get it... Maybe, we’ll complete it in the upcoming part.

Health tip: Get 6–7 hours of sleep without compromise. Neglecting sleep affects your life expectancy. So, take care — sleep properly. Au revoir.
