PREP TIME (PART 2)

Well, no dice roll this time. I made the rule (to roll the dice), and I break the rule. Anyways, rules were meant to be broken.

Coming straight to the point, I want to shed more light on the Prep Time of our school.

The fundamental rule of Prep Time was simple: revise the concepts taught during the day and complete the homework in peace and silence. But we used to do quite the opposite.

It wasn't just a time slot in our daily routine; it was a world of its own, where countless events unfolded. It was during Prep Time that we truly got to know one another from the inside out, without any filters. For some, it served as an unofficial therapy session, where they discussed their problems with unprofessional therapists—otherwise known as friends.

These unprofessional therapists would usually laugh off the problems instead of being an emotional pillar for their clients. But what more could they do? That was the only treatment method they knew: laugh at the problem, tease the person for eternity, and somehow make everything feel lighter.

Interesting stories, opinions, thoughts, anecdotes, and much more were exchanged during those hours. One such incident, which I vividly remember to this day, involved me and a friend trying to figure out our lives.

We spent an entire Prep Time listing every profession we could think of, even reserving a spot for "thief" on our list. After jotting down around thirty professions according to our liking, we began rating each one. Our grand agenda was to choose a profession, stick to it, earn loads of money, and—drum roll, please—eventually settle down somewhere near the borders of Sweden, Finland, and Norway. We had read in the newspaper that these countries consistently ranked among the happiest in the world, so naturally, that seemed like the perfect plan.

However, by the end of that session, we hadn't managed to single out a single profession. The very next day, we were busy with another activity to keep ourselves entertained, completely forgetting about our master plan of settling in Scandinavia and living a peaceful, happy life.

And that was just one small part of Prep Time in our school.

A lot happened during those sessions—most of it violating the fundamental purpose of Prep Time. But little did we know that those seemingly ordinary moments were quietly turning into memories.

Today, we have all the freedom we once wished for, yet somehow it never quite matches the vibe of those Prep Time days.

Meet you soon, gang.

Until then, best regards.

Take care. Be kind. Bye.
